Hungry? Well, you're not at the top of the food chain. Never have been. Fury have been around for a while, and they crave your (that is, human) flesh, blood, and bone. Actually, the only thing they really need is the blood, but its easier to get rid of everything at once (not to mention a law enforced by the Council). You see, the 'fire', or venom, that was injected into them when they were bitten and turned destroyed their heart, which pumps blood. The acidic fluids in their stomachs can burn through everything except blood, which they filter throughout the rest of their body to feed the fire. They only need to eat about once every two weeks or so, and there are very few fury in the world, so only a few hundred people who disappear a week won't impact the humans with much force.
